Moxabustion

"Moxa" consists in burning dried Chinese mugwort herb (Artemesia vulgaris) on acupuncture points. The Artemesia herb is rolled into tiny threads that are burned on specific points (with a special cream applied to the skin first to prevent any burns). The patient usually does not experience much warmth, yet the technique is known to increase circulation and reduce pain. Moxabustion is often used to complement an acupuncture session and is very effective for foot complaints and any pain.
